ARTE broadcasts on 23rd September 2017 at 8:15 pm our documentary “The Volcano that Changed the World” (directed by Florian Breier + Elmar Bartlmae). For this production, we have visited scientists, historians, archaeologists and volcanologists around the world to report on the consequences of this exceptional volcanic eruption of Mt Tambora 200 years ago. It is quite unique to see how geology, climate research, arts, literature, medical history and the democratic movement of our world are linked to this event. Enjoy.
